" From the moment I walk through the door, I have felt nothing but peace and love! Karina, Mimi, Blanca, Gabriella, Justin, Zahar and the rest of the lovely woman in Mi Cumbia have become like family!!! Karina, the owner is the best!!! Her hands are magical! I have extra super sensitive skin and have had terrifying experiences in the past from other places. My face has been burnt from waxing and I have had major break outs from regular waxes. But the wax used in Mi Cumbia has saved my life! Honesty, I have been searching for an Oasis for many years and can not tell you how happy and blessed I feel to have found it! It's amazing how welcomed every single woman and Justin (Karina's wonderful hubby / owner) makes me feel during every visit!! I wouldn't miss my biweekly appointment for anything. All products sold here are natural and organic. The Lemongrass Sugar scrub is to die for!!!! Im totally obsessed and ALWAYS have a big jar in the shower. After 12 long hours of being an RN, I'm so exhausted, sore, tense, overwhelmed and frustrated. But as soon as I use this healing scrub and work it into my feet all the way up to my face, I feel refreshed and extraordinarily much better! It's absolutely amazing!!! Truly it's like having a spa in your bathroom. And believe it or not it's lemon so men also will love using it. My coworkers husband is so in love with this scrub! Lol!!! I give these scrubs out as gifts and they are ALWAYS a hit!!! The coconut lotion and everyother product sold here are just spectacular! Please come in and enjoy a delicious cup of Columbian coffee while you sit back and melt into your chair as you get the best manicure and pedicure of your life! And remember all their products are so gentle and toxic free, so my daughter just loves coming here too!!! It makes me feel fantastic knowing she is both safe and happy at Mi Cumbia!

" - this weekend they really went above and beyond. My mom and best friend who is expecting decided to come to Philly for a long weekend. I immediately thought of Mi Cumbia, as I really wanted to pamper my friend, and they are pre-natal friendly.
Although very last minute, Zahara helped me book three appointments for manicures, pedicures, and foot massages. She was so sweet and helpful to keep us all together even thought he appointments had to be staggered. Once we arrived, the staff was so welcoming, and really made every effort to take extra special care of my mom and friend since they knew it was a special treat. Also of note, my mom is extra ticklish and normally can't stand pedicures, yet was so relaxed she fell asleep! They both absolutely raved and said it was the favorite of the many things we did this weekend!

" - salon experience from here on out. I can never go back to the traditional over-crowded nail salons that reek of chemicals and feel like a feet factory. This is my new happy place. 

I experienced a coconut pedicure at MI CUMBIA on Monday at 1:30. I had been lusting after this place for quite some time and manifested a gift certificate for Christmas. The space is small, but wonderfully decorated to create a warm and inviting atmosphere.  Upon entering Justin greeted me and offered me water or coffee. Knowing it was my first time, he then showed me the polish wall. I had plenty of colors to choose from and opted for a ZOYA sparkly silver for New Years. Kendra took me to the back room for my pedicure and relaxation ensued. My toe polish was removed, cuticles tended to, heels pumiced, warm coconut oil applied (my favorite part), feet massaged (2nd favorite part), legs scrubbed with coconut shavings (3rd favorite part), and then nails painted. Kendra really took her time to make sure my toes looked great. It was absolutely heavenly. 

When I was finished I was placed under a foot dryer for 15 minutes. I planned poorly and didn't bring flip flops, but Justin made extra sure that I was dry before leaving. He warned against wearing my shoes home without socks because the seams might mess with the polish. I ended up wearing the salon covers for the two block walk. Next time, I'll remember my flops! I've never experienced this level of attention to detail and deeply appreciate all the care they took with me. Can't wait to go back! "  Kristen M.

" - but never made it in until last week...really nice people very personable...everyone there makes you feel so at home.I decided to get the coconut mani and pedi and Blanca was right on point...especially if you could've saw my nails prior to going(smh) anyway I love going to a salon and not being knocked over by the scent of heavy chemicals..that's a definite plus for me. Customer service is impeccable Sahar is really sweet...as are all the ladies there. " - I ever had. Karina does a exceptional job by sitting down with you and explaining the process, whether it's your 1st Brazilian or your 100th, since it's your first time to Mi Cumbia. Nice added touch.

She was quick and efficient. and boy did I like the products. With a Brazilian, you have to to trust the technician and the product must be compatible and comfortable to your skin. GREAT TECHNICIAN & GREAT PRODUCT!!!!

Love the small intimate feel of this natural oasis. The eclectic design and decor are reminiscent of Columbian culture with raw and earthy elements.

" - tell me all the great places in my new city? mi cumbia is such a gem! It's decorated in a really unique fashion, there's so much to look at when you come inside, really cool. The staff are friendly. They use organic and less chemical products, so it doesn't smell at all like a salon; it smells amazing and lemon-y and herbal. I was there for waxing services and found it to be gentle on my skin and reasonably priced. I'm only sorry I didn't book a manicure too, but I'll get one next time =)

" I wanted to try the wax before my big day. I wanted to make sure I would not have any reactions. Karina was great... I was really nervous. Karina gave me a consultation prior to starting the service. She let me know exactly what would happen. She told me about the product, breathing technique, positions and helpful tips for after treatment. It actually was not as bad as I thought. I even set another appointment before the birth.

" - nail salon in Philadelphia. It stands out as way better than the rest.  First, everyone there is so friendly, professional, and nice. They are interested in providing you with the best experience--not trying to get you in and out the door like other salons. 

When I first walked in someone immediately came to my assistance and actually talked to me about nail colors and my choices. She helped me picked out a color that would look great on me and go well with the season. She also offered me coffee, tea, or water.

I started out with a 1/2 hr foot massage and pedicure. My nail person assessed my nails carefully, talked to me about ingrown nails, and was truly interested in nail care.  She used coconut oil, coconut, and mango butter for the foot massage--it was great! 

I also had a manicure. Best manicure ever. I feel so relaxed and am very happy with the way my nails look.

The owner even came over and talked to me to make sure I was getting a good experience.

While you are there, don't forget to get the coffee--it's delicious.

I also get my nails done here more so than any other nail salon.  My experience here with all of their services is excellent.  I have never regretted a service done here but the same cannot be said of many other salons I have been to.
