" By far the the best spa in the city! "

" I go to Mi Cumbia regularly for both nail services and hair removal.  Everyone from the receptionists to the manicurists is pleasant and accommodating. The soy based hair removal product is gentle and Karina is an expert at making one comfortable during the treatment.  Marjorie is a gem at mani/pedis; she thorough and sweet. Next best is the all organic nature of the business, from all the products used to make one feel pretty to the tasty chocolates and coffee sacks that line the walls.  Oh! And have a cup of Columbian coffee...yum! "  Jammie M.

" Just came back from my Bagazo del Coconut mani-pedi - "

" - which was easily the longest pampering session I've ever had. Blanca is very attentive and super sweet! I like to zone out a bit during my mani-pedis and she made the perfect amount of conversation.

I'm usually not a big fan of coconut but man, their coconut oil smells AMAZING. My arms and legs smell (and feel) fantastic! I also love how they offer you Colombian chocolate and coffee - so yummy!

Their polishes are water-based and need "curing" - which means you can't let water touch your nails for a minimum of 10 hours. Kind of crazy, right? But it is oh-so-worth-it in the end. Just a heads up - some of their services require a deposit, which will be deducted from your end total after the appointment. Gratuities don't have to be in cash, which is convenient. I definitely appreciate their green initiative as well - everything's organic and natural! "  Anne K.

" I decided to try this place, as recommended by a friend. "

" I had a wonderful experience at this salon. As soon as I walked in, I was greeted with a smile and a big welcome, as well as no chemical smell! yay. Their location is very tiny, therefore appointments are necessary. It's so unique, chocolate to purchase, as well as their products they use on you, jewelry, coffee, etc. They even let me try a sample of their chocolate. I had work completed by Gabriela. She did an amazing job throughout. It was so relaxing, as I had the Columbiana (manicure, pedicure, foot massage), therefore small talk wasn't necessary as I was just focusing on relaxing. A lady came in and was strapped for time for her appointment, but they were able to complete the job in the time she asked. I was told my experience would be about 1 1/2 hours, but it was more like 2 hours because of dry time, to pay and set up the next appointment! I plan to come back in two weeks for my birthday. There were a variety of non-toxic polishes to choose from - water based, sparkle, etc. I didn't choose the water based because there are strict guidelines to follow when on it, and I didn't want to risk ruining the polish. It's been over 24 hours and no problems with the paint job. Also, my feet are so silky smooth, even after walking downtown for hours after the experience! It is a bit on the pricey side, therefore I don't think I can go every 2 weeks, but it's def something every woman OR man (i'm bringing my boyfriend next visit), should experience! "  Dawn A

" I look forward to my waxing appointments with Karina. "

" She is warm, sensitive, highly professional, talks you through the process and may I add, is for me pretty painless. Mi Cumbia is also a cultural oasis with Justin, Karina and their engaging team, you won't be disappointed spending quality time in the wonderful place. I can't wait for my pedi/mani, no fumes, and organic products! LOVE, LOVE, LOVE going to Mi Cumbia!!! " Moshay L

I have been going to Mi Cumbia for the last two years

-- have never left in poor spirits: dark chocolate tasting menus, colombian coffee-teas-lemonade in the summer!, the decor is fantasticly authentic--Mi Cumbia truly invites you into a totally new world of spa care. I see Karina for waxing, Marjorie for my bi weekly manicure, they are thorough, trend conscious, I always feel I've been treated to the utmost in comfortable, personalized 'colombian' care. Anything involving coconut on the menu is a MUST GET.

Thank you to the entire Mi Cumbia family!  Noelle W

This review is long overdue.

I have been going to Tierra Mia for a while now and I really cannot say anything that has not already been said in the other glowing reviews. The staff is warm, friendly and welcoming. Tiffany is my absolute favorite, however you cannot go wrong with a service provided by any staff member as they are all very talented. The atmosphere is peaceful and relaxing. I work really long hours and going for a weekly manicure has become my favorite way of decompressing from work-related stress.  Google User

I really love this place: every -

- member of the staff is so friendly and welcoming. While I was waiting, one of the staff saw me looking at all the polish colors and offered to put a few on me so I could see what they look like out of the bottle. Just so nice and that has never happened to me anywhere else! And another offered me spearmint tea.
I have had 2 manicures from Karina, and she's a warm, calming presence to be around. I think there are 2 versions of the manicure: spring for the one that includes warm coconut oil and coconut shavings. All natural everything, super-clean -- you'll wonder why you ever went anywhere else. I'm really looking forward to booking a pedicure!   Google User

I have nothing but good things to say about -

- my experience at your spa. I have been raving about it ever since. I enjoyed every second - trying out the different polish colors, learning about the different treatments, everything about the pedicure (the massage was fantastic), and everything about the manicure. The staff was more than pleasant - I enjoyed my two therapists' company. The coffee was delicious. The atmosphere relaxing. This is my first time getting a manicure and pedicure, and I never would have gotten them if they weren't all natural like this. ...I will be back.

Thank you for everything! I'm so glad you are in Philadelphia!  Google User

Wow. Wow wow wow. From the minute -

- I walked in to Tierra, I found nail heaven. The staff is extremely talented, personable and professional. They thought of many of the details other salons forget - assisting me with my coat so I wouldn't stain it after trying a few nail colors, offering me a tasty beverage, helping me stow my gear. That care and attention would have me sold already, but then there are the treatments! As this is an organic salon, there is no nasty, headache inducing nail salon smell - just sweet, natural scents of came sugar and coconut, or whatever treatments you enjoy. I had the lemongrass brown sugar pedicure, and my legs have never felt so soft as they do right now. No further moisturizing lotion required due to the avocado oil. My manicure was even more divine, if possible, with warm coconut oil brushed over my arms, and followed by cold coconut shavings for a delightful contrast.

The polishes are all natural, so you can feel good about what you are putting on your body.

It is pricy, but well worth it. I would go every week if I could.

What more could I want? More pedicure chairs (they only have two), and maybe someday they'll offer a wider variety of natural treatments such as massage and facials.

Totally worth it!  Google User
